UNITED IN ROCK TOUR

I JUST GOT HOME YESTERDAY FOR A COUPLE OF DAYS OFF FROM OUR TOUR WITH FOREIGNER AND STYX. THE TOUR HAS BEEN GOING GREAT AND FOR ALL INTENTS AND PURPOSES, WE ARE HAVING A GREAT TIME. WE ARE PLAYING A 40 MINUTE SET EACH NIGHT. SO, IT’S WHAM, BAM, IT’S MILLER TIME! WE HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO PLAY “RED ROCK” AMPHITHEATER, JUST OUTSIDE OF DENVER. WHAT AN INCREDIBLE VENUE. IF YOU EVER HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO ATTEND AN EVENT THERE, BY ALL MEANS, DO IT. IF NOTHING ELSE, CHECK IT OUT ONLINE. IT IS TRULY ONE THE MOST MEMORABLE GIGS WE HAVE EVER PLAYED!
WE HAVE BEEN TRAVELING ON A TOUR BUS FOR THIS TOUR. THIS IS THE FIRST TIME WE HAVE BEEN ON A TOUR BUS HERE IN THE U.S. IN QUITE A FEW YEARS. NORMALLY WE FLY COMMERCIALLY AND RENT CARS. HOWEVER, PLAYING 4 OR FIVE GIGS A WEEKS, THIS IS THE ONLY OPTION. SLEEPING ON A TOUR BUS TAKES SOME GETTING USED TO BUT ONCE YOU GET THE HANG OF IT, IT’S HARD TO SLEEP IN A HOTEL BED. SOMETHING ABOUT THE HUM OF THE ENGINE AND THE SWAY OF THE BUS IS LIKE A SLEEPING PILL.
WE HAVE A ABOUT A DOZEN SHOW LEFT BEFORE WE PART COMPANY WITH THIS TOUR, SO, IF YOU GET A COME SEE THIS TOUR. I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT.
I HAVE BEEN WRITING LYRICS FOR THE NEW SEVENTH KEY CD DURING OFF DAYS ON THE ROAD. THIS IS USUALLY THE HARDEST PART OF THE PROCESS FOR ME. SOMETIMES, SONGS SEEM TO WRITE THEMSELVES, OTHER TIMES, I REALLY HAVE TO WORK FOR THEM! ANYWAY, ALL FOR NOW. AS ALWAYS, THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

So glad to hear that you guys have really been enjoying yourselves! Cap’n David and I really enjoyed seeing you perform at Verizon in Grand Prairie. So jealous to hear about Red Rocks! We had our tickets and we were going to fly there for the show and something came up. Darn it! I hate when unexpected crap comes up! I you get a chance to play there again and perhaps we will make it next time. Just loved hearing that you are writing for a new Seventh Key CD. I am really thrilled about that! I enjoy watching the Live in Atlanta DVD so much. I’ve pretty much worn it out! Cannot wait to hear the new material, it really gives me something to look forward to. Will Seventh Key then do any kind of concert dates? David and I would love to get a chance to hear and see you all in person. :-) Enjoy the rest of this tour’s dates. Rock Em! Love and Blessings to you and yours…

I have browsed through the fan reviews for this tour on Ticketmaster and the complimentary comments for KANSAS have to be nearly unanimous. We are gonna catch UIR in Pittsburgh on the 24th. CARRY ON BILLY!

I caught your show in Cary, NC. I’ve got to say, every time I see you guys, I am just amazed at how well it all sounds. You all certainly did not disappoint me at all that night. Hopefully my wife and I along with a couple other friends will make it to see you all in Columbus OH for one of your symphony shows. Keep up the great work Billy!

    Hi Billy,

I was at the Red Rocks show and you were great. Your vocals were the very best I have heard. I also liked your comment that we aren’t at sea level any more! Please come back soon. My friends just opened this place http://www.rhythmsbarandgrill.com and would love to have you :)

    Hi BIlly,
Glad you got a day or two off. THe show in Houston was SUPER! I think Foreigner or Styx should have opened for you guys. Lots of others said the same thing. Your vocals were not only right on but POWERFUL and full. Guess that helps Steve when you can do the high parts also. Your sound was very balanced and the bass did not overpower the rest like Styx and Foreigner. It is a show I will always remember. I understand you have a date of Dec. 3 in Winnie TX. I will have to find a way to get tickets.
Best to you and your wife. Rest Well.

Keep up the good work Billy! Can’t wait to hear the new 7th Key album!

    Rock On!

    Billy,

Had a great time at the Cary NC concert- thanks for the passes- I just wish you had been able to play longer- I could have done with more Kansas and less Styx- but then again, I am prejudiced…is Seventh Key going to be playing anytime soon? Heard there was a big throwdown for July 4th at the old homeplace-

    Hi Billy,
Got a chance to see y’all play in Cleveland June 26th then just Kansas this past weekend in Ohio with the Columbus Symphony. Had the pleasure of meeting you and Larry in the hotel lounge. Planning on a few more shows in the coming months. Really looking forward to hearing/seeing ‘Native Window’ play. I absolutely love the CD. It’s all I’ve been listening to in the car. Looks like I need to check out Seventh Key also!!!

Anyway, look forward to seeing you again down the road!

Saw the show in Atlanta in June - really looking forward to Symphony show in Tuscaloosa on the 10th of Sept. And can’t wait for another Seventh Key cd. Please..consider covering one of the “Streets” catalog songs..like maybe ” Fire” or ” “Desiree” please. Thanks. P.S. The Greer/Walsh harmonies on those two albums are incredible. Peace, Rick

  10. Rick Mitchell Says:

Hey, Billy. If you are working with Mike Slamer on the new Seventh Key cd. Ask him to pull “Never be lonely again” from his archives. It’s a great song.. and it is perfect for your voice. Just a thought. Peace. See you on Sept.10th. in Tuscaloosa

Hi Billy! Just wanted to thank you and the rest of the guys for a great show in Columbus OH with the symphony last month. Very impressed with the way you guys kept going despite the 88 degree heat at 10 PM (I called a local weather line and checked!). I had my 11 year old godson with me for his first Kansas concert, and we both had a great time! Hope you guys make it back to Columbus soon, and I’m looking forward to the new Seventh Key (and hopefully more Native Window). Thanks!

    Hi Billy,
It was great seeing you and the guys from the front row in Oklahoma. Also enjoyed chatting with you after both shows at the signing. Next shows are in York, PA and Collingswood, NJ. Look forward to seeing you then!!!
